There’s something mesmerizing about spotting a jay in a tree canopy and Jay’s Flight captures that tilt and turn as it weaves through the garden. With its wings outstretched, dipping towards the colourful flowers, I wanted to give a sense of movement and freedom. As with all the paintings in this collection, the artwork is a harmonious blend of realism and contemporary style with vibrant colours and semi abstract elements.

Painted in oil on a wooden cradle board, the painting measures 30.3 cm x 30.3 cm with a depth of 5cm.
